Solid-state image pickup device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To miniaturize and thin an optical system and an image pickup head section for a solid-state camera by unifying sealing glass for a solid-state image pickup element and a condenser lens. CONSTITUTION:A condenser lens 1 functions as sealing glass in combination, and a focus thereof is positioned on an image pickup element 2. A vessel 3 for the image pickup element contains and fixes the element 2. According to said constitution, the lens 1 serves as sealing glass in combination, thus shortening a distance between the lens 1 and the element 2, then further miniaturizing and thinning a device. The focal distance of the lens is shortened considerably in this case, thus resulting in uniform image pickup up to from a near object to a remote object even when the lens is not focussed against the object.
