Testing system for optical bus net
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To execute the test of an optical bus net at high speed by providing a test-data generator and a switch for transmitting test data in an optical repeater. CONSTITUTION:Respective terminals 11, 12,-16 connected with an up optical communication line U and a down optical communication line D mutually constitute the optical bus net to mutually execute an optical communication via optical couplers 21, 22,-26 and the optical repeaters 31 and 32. It is assumed that a fault occurs at a point marked by the code 5, the optical repeater 32 closes the up-switch 326 and the down-switch 327, and transmits a test frame from its test-data generator 321 to the communication line. The test frame is received by the terminals 16, 15 and 14, but terminals 13, 12, and 11 cannot receive it. Therefore, another optical repeater 31 transmits a test frame, which can be received by the terminals 12 and 11, but not received by ones 16, 15, 14, or 13. Accordingly, that the fault is occurring at the point 5 between the optical couplers 23 and 24 can be known by respective monitors by monitoring it by themselves.
