Thermal transfer recorder
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable favorable recording to be performed even on a paper with poor smoothness, by a system wherein a thermal head is used, a slant surface thereof is brought into contact with the base side of an ink ribbon, and a substrate is disposed in the state of being slanted in the direction of the movement of the head relative to the ink ribbon. CONSTITUTION:The ink ribbon 2 is brought into contact with a recording paper 3 supported on a platen 4 on the back side, and a slant surface type thermal head 1 is disposed with an end in contact with the ribbon 2. Where the substrate of the head 1 is slanted in the direction of the movement of the thermal head 43 relative to the ink ribbon 44, growth of sag 46 of the ribbon 44 is restrained by a main flat surface of the head 43, so that a non-printable condition is prevented from being generated due to folding of the ribbon 44. This effect is obtained also in the case where the head 43 is fixed while the ink ribbon 44 and the recording paper 45 are moved. Accordingly, favorable printing with a high printing pressure can be performed on a recording paper 45 having poor smoothness, and since the ribbon 44 is prevented from sagging, stability and reliability of printing are excellent.
