Deceleration energy recovery apparatus for vehicle

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve fuel consumption by functioning a pump/motor as a pump under deceleration while as a motor when starting and turning on a clutch if the pressure in the accumulator is lower than predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:Under deceleration, the rotation of wheel is transmitted through spindle 4, gears 6, 7 and PTO output shaft 8 to a pump/motor 16 thus to function as a pump and to accumulate the working oil in an accumulator. While when the accumulated pressure is lower than specific level under starting, the pump/motor 16 is functioned as a motor to turn off the clutch 2 while to connect with counter shaft PTO synchronizer 11 to transmit the rotation of motor 16 through the output shaft 8, the gears 7, 6, the counter shaft 5 and the spindle 4 to the wheel. While when the accumulated pressure is lower than specific level under starting, the pump/motor 16 is functioned as a motor and the clutch 2 is turned on to transmit the driving force of motor 16 and engine 1 to the wheel thus to improve fuel consumption.
