Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve image quality and the reliability of a machine body and to extend the life of the machine by successively counting the number of image forming operations and displaying the need of a periodic inspection when a set value or above is attained. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 501 reads out data from a region 506b of an external memory 506 and adds a '1' thereto and writes the result as the fresh present value again into the region 506b at every one execution of the copying operation. The microcomputer displays the sentence 'contact service engineer for periodic inspection' on the 1st display part 39. This display is made only during the time since the turning on of a power supply till the end of warming up. The display can be made in the stage of the next periodic inspection by providing a means to allow the service engineer to rewrite the present or set value in the memory 506. The sure maintance and inspection are thereby executed and the improved image quantity and machine reliability and extended life are resulted.
