Electrophotographic sensitive body
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity, and superior in resistances to printing, heat, and circumstantial conditions by laminating amorphous carbon layers and a photoconductive amorphous silicon layer on a conductive substrate, and giving the functions as a surface protective layer, an electrostatic charge transfer layer, and a charge injection blocking layer to the amorphous carbon layers. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtained by laminating on the conductive substrate 4 made of Al or the like the amorphous carbon layer 3 doped with B by the plasma decomposition of gaseous methane, on this layer 3 the photoconductive a-Si:H layer 2 doped with B by the plasma CVD method, and further on this layer 2, the amorphous carbon layer 1 as the surface protective layer. The amorphous carbon is high in hardness and good in light transmittance, and the use of it enhances resistances to printing, heat, and circumstantial adverse conditions, and elevates sensitivity and resolution of the photosensitive body. The addition of an element of group IIIA or VA, such as B, permits the layer 3 to function as the charge transfer layer and the charge blocking layer.
