Diesel engine supercharging device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient intake air even at the time of low load and enable an economical low load operation by providing two systems of turbine driving parts of a supercharger which is provided in the exhaust system of an engine. CONSTITUTION:In a non-utility generating equipment consisting of a diesel engine with supercharger and a synchronous generator directly connected to said diesel engine, an exhaust piping 9 for introducing exhaust gas discharged from an engine cylinder 3 is divided halfway into two and the divided pipings are connected to two systems of turbines 6, 7 of a supercharger 4, respectively. And, the impeller 11 of the supercharger 4 is driven by the rotation of both turbines 6, 7 to compress a combustion air, which, in turn, is fed to the intake manifold 2 of the engine via an after cooler 10. Also, a motor driven damper 5 is provided on one of the divided pipings, and is closingly controlled in a low load zone, so as to drive the supercharger 4 only by means of the turbine 7.
