Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To remove smears by driving a vertical shift register at high speed with a timing before transferring a signal charge to the vertical shift register and by prohibiting the exposure during a time when a signal charge is being read out. CONSTITUTION:The timing of exposure of a rotary shutter 2 is executed at every three fields, and the exposure is executed as shown by the B, A, B, A of a read signal SG in the figure. The field 1A of a video signal is formed by one exposure of the shutter 2. At the time of transferring the field 1A, the shutter 2 is at the timing of exposing. Prior to executing a read by the second B signal of the read signal, the vertical shift register is driven at high speed and the smears are eliminated.
