Manufacture of high pressure metalic vapor discharge lamp

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate defects due to disconnection caused by thinning of the lead wire due to oxidation or by oxidation of the connecting part between the lead wire and the sealing foil, by coating closely particles of less than 2mum in diameter of thermal resistant fine powder on the current lead wire and the gap of the sealing part of the lead wire. CONSTITUTION:The particles 14 of less than 2mum in diameter of the thermal resistant powder 13 are coated quite closely on the current lead wires 6a, 6b and the gaps 7a, 7b of the sealing part. Hereby the gaps produced among the particles 14 can be made so minute that the current lead wires 6a, 6b and the gaps 7a, 7b of the sealing part can be shut out from the atmoshere. Thereby the generation of the defects due to disconnection caused by significant thinning of the lead wires 6a, 6b due to oxidation or by oxidation of the connecting parts 10a, 10b between the lead wires 6a, 6b and the sealing foils 9a, 9b can be eliminated without many troublesome procedures during the degassing and exhausting process of the tube body 1.
