Magnetic head holding mechanism

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To protect a head from damaging by so constituting the titled mechanism that the magnetic head on the side of a movable carrier rises to a considerable height when loading/unloading a medium and another head on the side of another carrier is lowered lower than a spindle plane and detaches from the medium or its protection jacket. CONSTITUTION:The supporting part 24 of a plate spring 11 to its carrier 14 is bent by a small angle. Because of the said angle theta, the magnetic head 13 is lowered lower than the plane 15 of the spindle to the direction of carrier 4. Therefore, during the loading/unloading of the medium, the medium 16 does not contact the head 13. Also, the magnetic head 13 can be lowered by such sufficient length that the protection jacket does not contact the head 13 for the irregular bendings of the medium 16. For purposes of writing and reading, the medium 16 is mounted, and the magnetic head 13 is allowed to contact with it, at this time a pressing bar 12 moves upward by the inclined plane 9 of a rod 8, and is then positioned on the flat plane 10 to stop the movement.
