Thermal transfer material and thermal transfer recording method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable clear-cut images with high density to be printed even on a recording medium poor in surface smoothness, by sequentially providing specified first, second and third ink layers comprising respective heat-fusible materials on a base in that order. CONSTITUTION:A first ink layer 3 is constituted of a uniform system comprising a heat-fusible material, and functions to control the adhesion to a base 2 by an adhesive force generated in a third ink layer 5 when being heated. A second ink layer 4 provided as a colored layer is brought into contact with a recording medium through the third ink layer 5 provided as a non-colored layer, so that a recorded image can be obtained through partial penetration and adhesion of the third ink layer to the recording medium. The colored layer is present on the third ink layer 5, so that it does not penetrate into the recording medium, and lift-off correction of a misrecorded image can be performed by using an adhesive tape or the like. In the third ink layerr5, heat-fusible materials constitute at least two kinds of domains, and a great difference in cohesive force is generated between a heated part and a non-heated part, so that clear recorded images can be obtained.
