Image information conversion method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a picture reading method with simple constitution without requiring the wiring for scanning by forming a picture input layer having the photoconductive effect and an optical modulation layer having the electrooptic effect adjacently in parallel or as a single layer and providing a couple of electrodes to apply a voltage to the layers at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive element 15 has a liquid crystal layer 7 as an optical modulation layer having the electrooptic effect and uses a CdS layer 3 as a picture input layer comprising a photoconductive body, and the electrodes 2, 8 to apply a voltage with the arrangement clipping the layers 3, 7 are formed as transparent electrodes. Through the constitution above, in irradiating a light strong/weak pattern 10 having picture information from the right side, the optical pattern is converted into an electric charge pattern at a photoconductive film 3 through a fiber optics 1 and the transparent electrode 2. The laser light 11 reaches a liquid crystal layer 7 through the glass 9 and the transparent electrode 8 and the liquid crystal layer 7 changes the polarized angle of the laser light depending on the change in the voltage distribution. In inputting the optical signal to the optical fiber, it is possible to transmit a picture signal.
