Coating material for inorganic optical fiber
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled coating material which is speedy in curing velosity, tough and excellent in the adhesive strength with an inorganic optical fiber by containing a polymer of the specified fluorine-contg. acrylic acid ester. CONSTITUTION:A polymer having multivalent alcohol or hydroxyl group and equivalent or excess CH2=CFCOF are allowed to react in a solvent such as acetone or dioxane in the presence of an acid-acceptor such as triethylamine to obtain a polymer of fluorine-contg. acrylic acid ester shown by a formula (A is remaining group wherein at least two pieces of hydroxyl groups are released from an organic compd. having at least two pieces of hydroxyl groups and (p) is integer of >=2 in accordance with the bonding valency number of A.). Then a coating material is obtained by blending a modifying resin (e.g. acrylic resin), a curing accelerator and an organic silicon compd. or the like if necessary. Thereafter the above-mentioned coating material is coated on the surface of an inorganic optical fiber so as to regulate to <=10mum and it is cured by the light irradiation and/or heating.
