Vibration damping support device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the damping coefficient of a vibration damping support device and at reducing the dynamic spring constant thereof, by providing a cylinder between a pair of liquid chambers while a piston is slidably fitted in the cylinder, and by forming a spiral groove in the outer surface of the piston so that the groove defines an orifice in cooperation with the inner surface of the cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A vibration damping support device 3 is disposed between an automobile engine 1 as a vibration generator, and a vehicle body as a support member. Further, a vibration damping support device 3 is composed of a resilient member 4 and a pair of liquid chambers 6, 7 which are communicated with each other through an orifice 5. In this arrangement, the resilient member 4 is provided in its center section with a cylinder 16 extending between both liquid chambers 6, 7, and a piston 17 is slidably fitted in the cylinder 16. Further, a spiral groove 20 is formed in the outer surface of the piston 17, extending over the entire length of the latter. This spiral groove 20 defines a spiral orifice 5 in cooperation with the inner surface of the cylinder 16. With this arrangement, it is possible to attain the desired purpose due to the effect of the movement of the piston 17 and the long orifice in combination.
