Machine tool for forming noncircular contour
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To permit the working with high accuracy for an article having a noncircular section by correcting an input by using the added deflection up to the preceeding revolution of a main shaft. CONSTITUTION:The revolution angle theta of a workpiece W revolved with the main spindle 13 of a lathe 10 is detected by counting the number of pulses generated at each certain angle which are supplied from a rotary encoder 24 installed onto the main spindle 3, and said pulses are sent into a computer 19 where memories are called-out successively, and the rewriting of memories is repeated. Then, the output signal of the computer 19 is introduced as the tool position instruction signal into an electric oil-pressure servomechanism 18 through a servoamplifier 26. The tool position instruction data in the computer 19 is rewritten as new data each time when the pulses are received from the encoder 24, and the electric oil-pressure servomechanism 18 is controlled with high accuracy by the new data having the reduced position deflection.
