Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To aim at reduction in a noise, by using a timing belt, whose toothed part is made up of an elastic body, as an endless conveyor, in case of a device which installs a lot of article conveying plates movable in the direction of the breadth. CONSTITUTION:An article sorter is provided with an endless conveyor 1 made up of supporting a lot of rodlike articles 2, and during its operation, each article conveying plate 7 installed in two adjacent rodlike articles 2 free of axial sliding motion is moved in the direction of the breadth of the conveyor 1 with operation of a selector gate (unillustrated herein) set up in the lower part whereby it sorts articles. In this case, both ends of the said rodlike article 2 are supported on a timing belt 11 via a fixed pin 11. This timing belt 11 is made up of such an elastic body as rubber or polyurethane or the like on which a toothed part 11a engaging a gear rotating this belt is formed, and inside the timing belt, a core body 11b consisting of a nonelastic body keeping strength against tensile force is made so as to be embedded.
