High-definition signal converter for television signals

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent a cross color by applying amplitude modulation to a TV signal and adding after a luminance signal and a color difference signal are separated and converted in frequency. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal Y is separated to three frequency bands by LPF1, BPF2 and LPF3. After an output YL2 of BPF2 is applied with amplitude modulation by a modulating device 4, the output is supplied to LPF5. After an output YH of LPF3 is applied with amplitude modulation by a modulating device 7, the output is supplied to LPF8. Color difference signals I and Q are supplied through LPF10 and 11 to modulators 12 and 13 and modulated orthogonally by modulators 12 and 13. These signals are added at an adder circuit 15.
