Opto-thermal writing card capable of information rewriting

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To rewrite and use a card many times by charging liquid crystal capable of opto-thermal writing in a sealed body, and fixing this sealed body to the top surface of a carrier with a binder. CONSTITUTION:The information card 1 is thrown in an automatic ticket examin ing device and information stored on its magnetic stripe 3 is read to decides whether the information card is still effective or not and whether there is money left; when the card is judged to be effective, the amount of money used is subtracted from the read remaining amount of money to calculate the new amount of money, which is written on the magnetic stripe 4. The liquid crystal 7 turns transparent at high frequencies to erase numbers and a display layer 3 corresponding to new numbers is irradiated with laser light to heat the liquid crystal 7, which becomes opaque in white through opto-thermal effect, thereby displaying the new numbers.
