Oil-supply-amount adjusting apparatus for oil seal in internal-combustion engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the leak of oil and the reduction of durability of an oil seal by adjusting the amount of oil supply by installing a valve body having a member which is made of shape memory alloy and approaches and separates from the side surface of the oil seal, between a bearing and the oil seal. CONSTITUTION:A valve body 13 for adjusting the supplied-oil amount through the splasing oil feed is installed onto the side surface of an oil seal 9. The valve body 13 has a temperature sensing member 15 consisting of a spring made of shape memory alloy, and is shifted by the temperature variation of the oil- supplied part. When the number of revolution of a shaft 2 varies, also the temperature of this part varies accordingly, and the lubricating oil in the necessary amount corresponding to the number of revolution is supplied onto the oil seal.
