Control of automatic speed changer for car

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To establish five speed change stages selectively in an automatic speed changer having two speed changer in series by switching first speed changer between two speed change stages when second changer is in the highest speed stage. CONSTITUTION:In a system hydraulic torque converter 2 associated with a direct coupled clutch 6 and main/sub speed change gears 10, 11 arranged in series to select speed change 1-stage back, an electronic controller 60 will decide whether manual shift range is in D-range under travelling of car. If it is in D- range, it is switched between all speed change stages of first of fifth stages if the speed change pattern is an output travel pattern thus to engage the direct coupled clutch 6 respectively in third to fifth stages. Furthermore, sub speed change gear 10 is switched between two speed change stages in third to fifth speed change stages.
