Magneto-optics reproducing device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of reproducing accuracy, by controlling a plane of polarization so that it can be rotated by 90 deg. until an optical beam for reproduction is reflected by a magnetic recording or transferring medium and returns to a polarization beam splitting means after the optical beam passes through the polarization beam splitting means. CONSTITUTION:A beam for reproduction containing linearly polarized lights is radiated from a semiconductor laser 1 and made incident to a polarization beam splitter 3. The optical beam passing through the splitter 3 is made incident to a Faraday cell 4 where the rotation of the plane of polarization is controlled, and led onto a magnetic transferring medium 7. The recorded information on a magnetic recording medium 12 is transferred to the medium 7 when the recording medium 12 passes below the medium 7. The optical beam for reproduction reflected after passing through the medium 7 is reflected by the splitter 3 after passing through the cell 4 and made incident to an analyzer 8. A polarization control/reproduction circuit 10 controls the plane of polarization so that the plane can be rotated by 90 deg. until the reproducing optical beam is reflected by the medium 7 and returns to the splitter 3 after passing through the splitter 3 in accordance with the quantity of incident light to a photoelectrically converting element 9. Therefore, deterioration of the accuracy of a reproduced signal R can be prevented.
