Novel camptothecin derivative

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> is H or 1-4C alkyl; X is Cl or amino group expressed by the formula -NR<2>R<3> (R<2> and R<3> are H, alkyl or R<2> and R<3> together with N form heterocyclic ring)]. EXAMPLE:11-[4-(1-Piperidino)-1-piperidino]carbonyloxycamptothecin. USE:An antitumor agent and an intermediate therefor. PREPARATION:For example, a 7-alkyl-11-hydroxycamptothecin is reacted with a chloroformamide derivative expressed by the formula ClCONR<1>R<2>, e.g. 1-chlorocarbonyl-4-piperidinopiperidine, in a solvent, e.g. pyridine.
