El element
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:An inexpensive and easily producible EL element, capable of providing emission with high luminance even by low-voltage drive, consisting of a luminous layer of a specific three layer lamination structure comprising thin layers of electrically luminous organic compounds, and electrodes layers sandwiching it in between. CONSTITUTION:In an EL element consisting of the luminous layers 4-6 having a three layer lamination structure, and the two electrode layers 1 and 3 wherein an least one is transparent, sandwiching the layers 4-6 in between, the first luminous layer 4 consists of a monomolecular layer comprising the electrically luminous organic compound A and at least one organic compound having electron donor properties relatively based on the compound A or its accumulated layer, the second luminous layer 5 consists of a molecule piled layer comprising the compound A or an electrically luminous organic compound having the same electronegativity as that of the compound A, and the third layer 6 consists of a molecule piled layer comprising the compound A or the electrically luminous organic compound having the same electronegativity as that of the compound A and an organic compound having electron donor properties relatively based on the compound A, to give the aimed EL element.
