Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To maintain initial performance and anti-vibration performance even if a V-shaped groove and a ball are deformed or worn, by providing a slidable rail having the V-shaped groove on a movable body or a feed base and a spring for normally biasing the rail against the ball. CONSTITUTION:An optical pickup 1 is designed to smoothly move in a vertical direction of a paper plane with no play in vertical and lateral directions of the paper plane by press-fitting balls 6a, 6b, 6c and 6d with V-shaped grooves 3a, 3b and 4a and a V-shaped groove of a rail 5. A spring 8 is provided to normally bias the groove of the rail against the balls 6a and 6b under a fixed pressure. Accordingly, it is possible to effectively absorb an impact force from any directions inclusive of a feed direction and a vertical direction of a movable body, and thereby prevent deformation of the balls and the grooves.
