Side support regulating device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To falitate boarding and alighting, by providing an association releasing means on a boarding side one of side supports having left and right associating mechanisms. CONSTITUTION:Side support frames 14, 15 are provided on longitudinal frames 12, 13 of a seat back frame 11, and are coupled together by means of a left and right associating bar 41. A slide block 49 coupled to the upper end of the side support frame 14 is fitted onto a rotational center pin 48 which is pivotally attached to a bracket 43 for the boarding side frame 14. The slide block 49 has at its upper end an associating projection 55, and is engaged with an associating notch 54 in a follow-up lever 51 which is normally urged upward upon normal operation. Since the follow-up lever 51 is associated with the left and right associating bar 41, the side supports are associatingly moved, and when the slide block 49 is depressed downward to release the engagement between the associating notch 54 of the lever 51 and the associating projection 55, the association is released.
