Reinforcing furnace carbon black

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled carbon black having improved dispersibility without detriment to reinforcing properties, having specified physical properties (e.g. specific surface area, iodine adsorption, aggregate size distribution index). CONSTITUTION:Reinforcing furnace carbon black has such physical properties that N2SA (nitrogen adsorption specific surface area) is 200-280m<2>/g, the ratio of IA/N2SA (IA: iodine adsorption) is 0.9-1.2 and SS (aggregate size distribution index by sedimetry) is 0.06-0.08. When the ratio of CTABSA/N2SA (CTABSA: cetyltrimethylammonium bromide adsorption specific surface area) is increased to 0.8 or above, performance can be further improved without detriment to both reinforcing properties and dispersibility.
