Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent not only blotting of an ink dot but also the outflow of ink when inks are overlapped in a multicolor fashion, by providing a means for drying a recording member under heating. CONSTITUTION:A holding member 6 for holding a recording member 2 in contact relation to the back surface side of said recording member 2 and the ink jet printing head 7 opposed thereto are arranged and a heater 10 is assembled in the holding memeber 6 as a heating means. The heater 10 holds the holding member 6 to a state heated at predetermined temp. and heats the recording member 2 on the surface 6A of said holding member 6 to rapidly dry ink droplets which were injected from the printing head 7 and reached to the recording member 2.
