Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the transfer efficiency by providing a transfer drum of an outside diameter by whcih an acceleration of the time of acceleration and the time of deceleration always becomes constant. CONSTITUTION:In case when a form is, for instance, an A3 size, a rotating speed of a transfer drum 8 is made lower than the time of transfer, and the tip of the form is carried to a transfer point 13. That is to say, in case when the form size is large, and also the transfer drum 4 rotates at the same rotating speed as the time of the previous transfer and carries the form to the transfer point 13, in this case, an optical system 3 is placed in a state that it is not returned to the home position yet, and the tip of an image and the tip of the form are not made to coincide with each other. Therefore, the tip of the form is synchronized with the reset time of the optical system 3 by decreasing the rotating speed of the drum 8. In this regard, when the tip of the form has been returned to the transfer point 13, the transfer drum 8 is returned so that the rotating speed coincides with a rotating speed of a photosensitive drum 7, and made to correspond to a transfer process of the second time. When the transfer of the second time is ended in the same way as the transfer of the first time, the transfer drum 8 is brought to a speed change again and returned to the transfer point 13, and prepared for the transfer of the third time.
