Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a liquid crystal compsn. having excellent response characteristics, containing two specified phenylcyclohexane liquid crystal compds. CONSTITUTION:7-80wt% compd. of formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-8C alkyl) is blended with 93-20wt% compd. of formula II, III, IV or V (wherein R2, R3 are each a 1-8C alkyl) to obtain a liquid crystal compsn. Since the liquid crystal compsn. has a low viscosity and large DELTAn, a liquid crystal display element having good response rate can be formed and temperature dependence of visual angle characteristics, threshold voltage, response rate, etc. are improved.
