Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To discriminate a cartridge at every developing color by providing a key of a specified shape on a specified position of one of the cartridge or a developing part, and providing a ward for receiving its key on the other. CONSTITUTION:Projections 15a, 15b are provided by shifting the installing position to each other, on the rear parts of cartridges 5, 9 installed to the first and the second developing parts 4, 8. On the other hand, recessed parts 4b, 8b for receiving the projections 15a, 15b of the cartridges 5, 9 are provided on cartridge receivers 4a, 8a of the developing parts 4, 8. Accordingly, in case of installing the cartridge, for instance, when the cartridge 9 is inserted into the cartridge receiver 4a of the developing part 4 by mistake, the projection 15b cannot be fitted into the recessed part 4b of the cartridge receiver 4a and cannot be inserted completely because its installing position is different. In this way, a wrong installation of the cartridge is prevented.
