Catalytic carrier for purifying exhaust gas
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the effect of a poisoning substance and to purify effectively an exhaust gas by depositing a catalyst in the higher density on a side wherein the exhaust gas is not collided in comparison with a side wherein the exhaust gas is flowed in and collided among the surfaces of a tridimensional network- like skeleton. CONSTITUTION:As a catalytic carrier for purifying an exhaust gas of an automobile or the like, a catalyst 11 consisting of Pt and Rh is deposited on a tridimensional network-like skeleton which consists of a cordierite layer 9 having a cavity 8 in the center part and is coated with an Al2O3 layer 10 on the outside periphery but as the amount to be deposired, the catalyst having 2-3 times high density of an opposite side collided against an exhaust gas is deposited to a downstream side wherein the flow of the exhaust gas is not collided. In such a way, the effect of inactivation of the activity due to a poisoning substance incorporated in the exhaust gas is decreased and the poisonous gas is effectively purified.
