Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obviate the necessity of delaying the paper feeding timing of a paper feeding body by preventing the collision of the sheets of paper in a cross transport passage by feeding the sheets of paper into a delay transport passage by switching a gate. CONSTITUTION:A gate 9 is switched between the first and the second positions I and II by a solenoid 10, and a sheet of paper is transported into a main inlet transport passage 4 in case of the first position I, and transported into a delay transport passage 7 in case of the second position II. When a paper detecting sensor 11 installed onto the discharge side of an intermediate transport passage 6 detects the sheet of paper, the solenoid 10 is operated in timing, and the gate 9 is positioned at the second position. Therefore, during the time when the sheets of paper are sent into a cross transport passage 8 from the intermediate transport passage 6, said sheet of paper is fed into the delay circuit 7 through the gate 9, and the collision of the sheets of paper is prevented. Therefore, the necessity of delaying the timing of paper feeding from a paper feeding body 1 is obviated, and the signal communication with the body 1 is omitted.
