Optical recording medium

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enhance fastness and enable an optical recording medium to be used with recording rays even in near infrared and infrared regions, by providing a recording layer comprising a phthalocyanine compound of a specified general formula on a base to produce an optical recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A phthalocyanine compound of formula I or II, wherein M is a hydrogen atom, metal atom, semimetal atom or the like, k is the inverse number of 1/2 of the valency of M, Pc is a phthalocyanine nucleus, each of R1 and R2 is aliphatic group, alicyclic group, aromatic group or heterocyclic group, R2 is a bivalent aliphatic, alicyclic, aromatic or heterocyclic group, each of X1 and X2 is O, S, Se, Te or the like, Y is hydrogen or halogen, n is an integer of 5-16, is an integer of 1-8 and (m) is an integer of 0-14, is dissolved in a solvent to prepare a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to the base formed of polymethyle methacrylate or the like to provide the recording layer, thereby producing the optical recording medium.
