Two color original transmitting method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the transmission time and also to eliminate useless print at the reception side by using only a part where two colors of a two-color original are mixed as a transmission object, excluding the other part form the object of transmission and compressing the transmitted data. CONSTITUTION:A two-color original 1 is scanned in the main scanning direction by a CCD image sensor 11 so as to read a picture signal. In order to discriminate the two-color picture of the original, the reflected luminous amount of each color through the irradiation of a light source A and that through the irradiation of a light source B is set differently and the luminescent wavelength band of the light sources A, B is set differently by taking the spectral reflecting characteristic of two colors into consideration. A picture signal obtained in this way is inputted to an arithmetic circuit 16 via a reading section 15 and the signal is formed into a picture data separated into two colors at the section 15. When two colors are mixed in the scanning of one line, a transmission control section 18 decides it as the transmitted data and the data with one color only is excluded from the object of transmission.
