Method for optomagnetic recording and reproduction

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the applied device and to improve the utilizing efficiency by dividing a reflected light or a transmission light of a recording medium by means of a polarized element into two and reading the signal while calculating the difference of the intesity change. CONSTITUTION:The polarized element 11 is provided in a reflection optical path of a half mirror 4. The polarized element 11 is set while being tilted by 45 deg. in the polarized direction of a signal light from the mirror 4, the polarized light component shifted by an angle of 45 deg. to the polarizing direction of a signal light is reflected, received by a photodiode 8a, the polarized component shifted by 45 deg. in the opposite direction is transmitted and received by the photodiode 8b. A difference signal of the output of the diodes 8a, 8b is extracted by a differential amplifier 10, then three elements comprising conventionally a half mirror and two analyzers are formed into one polarized element 11, the device is simplified and the utilizing efficiency of light is improved.
