Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:A cathode ray tube having a fluorescent face with low reflectance of outer light and high contrast, obtained by using a blue luminescent fluorescent material containing ultramarine blue pigment covered with silica on the fluorescent face luminescent with cathode ray irritation. CONSTITUTION:The desired cathode ray tube using a fluorescent substance obtained by adding (B) preferably 1-20 pts.wt. pigment particles having preferably 0.5-0.9mum average particle diameter obtained by coating continuously the surface of ultramarine blue pigment having 0.2-1.2mum average particle diameter with 50-600wt% (preferably 70-150wt%) amorphous silica to (A) 100pts.wt. blue luminescent fluorescent substance (e.g., ZnS:Ag, ZnS:Ag, Al, ZnS:Ag, Cl, etc.). USE:A color picture tube, monochromatic tube, etc.
