Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To cool a supercharger effectively, by passing a part of cooling water to a cooling-water passage in the supercharger when the temperature of cooling water is high, vaporizing cooling water by use of remaining heat of the supercharger, and carrying the vapor to a radiator under pressure. CONSTITUTION:In operation of an engine, cooling water circulated by a water pump 2 is heated in a water jacket 3 and then carried to a radiator 7 via a thermostat 4 opened by high-temperature cooling water and an upper hose 6. At the same time, a part of cooling water is carried from an output chamber 5b of a fitting 5 to a cooling-water passage 14 in a supercharger 13 via a pipe 12 for cooling the supercharger 13 and then it is recovered by the pump 2. When the engine is stopped, cooling water in the cooling-water passage 14 is boiled by the remaining heat and the vapor is carried to the radiator 7 via the pipe 12, etc. The vapor is condensed in the radiator 7 and cooling water is supplied to the passage 14 via a pipe 15 at the rate corresponding to the amount of vaporized cooling water.
