Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform digestion effectively and stably by providing an operating means outputting the mass of suspended matter from the flow rate of charged raw sludge and the concn. thereof, a flow meter and densitometer, etc. for measuring the flow rate of seed sludge to be returned to a primary digestion tank and the density of suspended matter. CONSTITUTION:The flow rate and density of suspended matter of raw sludge to be charged to a primary digestion tank 2 by a raw sludge charging pump 1 are measured by a flow meter 6 and a densitometer 10, and inputted into a multiplier 12. The value of (Flow rate of raw sludge) X (density of suspended matter in the raw sludge) = (quantity of suspended matter in the raw sludge) is operated in the multiplier 12 and is inputted into a ratio meter 8. The ratio meter 8 multiplies a previously determined constant (1-3) by the quantity of suspended matter in the raw sludge inputted from the multiplier 12, and the result is inputted into a flow rate controller 9. On one hand, the flow rate and the density of suspended matter of the seed sludge drawn from a secondary digestion tank 4 by a returned seed sludge pump 5 is measured by a flow meter 7 and a densitometer 11, and fed back to the primary digestion tank 2.
