Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To convert crystal into a fluorescent substance, by keeping an alkali halide crystal in a high-temperature and high-pressure N2 gas for a long time. CONSTITUTION:For example, pure calcium chloride crystal and a dried N2 gas at 1 atmospheric pressure are put in an ampoule heated upto 600 deg.C and kept 24hr. The pressure of N2 gas in the ampoule is about 3 atmospheric pressure. When the treated crystal is irradiated with about 266nm light ray, it emits 400nm light ray. When the crystal irradiated with X-rays, and then with about 550nm light ray, it emits about 450nm light ray.
