Electrically conductive granular phenolic resin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having excellent heat-resistance and dispersibility, and small specific gravity, and suitable as a filler for plastics, rubbers, etc. to impart electrical conductivity thereto, by coating a specific granular or powdery (nitrogen-containing) phenol aldehyde resin with a metal. CONSTITUTION:A metallic film (preferably Ni, Ag or Cu) is applied, preferably by chamical plating, to the surface of a granular or powdery (nitrogen-containing) phenol aldehyde resin containing granular primary particles having a diameter of 0.1-150mu or its secondary agglomerates, content of the fraction passing through the 100 Tyler mesh sieve of at least 50wt%, preferably 90wt%, and a free phenol content of <=ppm, preferably <=10ppm by liquid chromatography.
