Surface treatment of selective gas permeable membrane
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To wash efficiently the surface of a selective gas permeable membrane by using a solvent consisting of chain hydrocarbon, fluorinated and chlorinated hydrocarbon, or the mixture thereof which hardly dissolve the selective gas permeable membrane and dissolve oil mist. CONSTITUTION:The chain hydrocarbon such as n-hexane and heptane having n= 6.7 or fluorinated and chlorinated hydrocarbon, preferably trichlorotrifluoroethane, or the mixture thereof, is used as a washing solvent. A solvent tank 3 is filled with the washing solvent 4 having said composition, and a selective gas permeable membrane 2 is inserted therein along with a porous support 1 to wash the surface of said membrane 2. In this way, the dust 5 and the oil mist 6 deposited on the surface of the membrane 2 as shown in the figure (a) are removed, and the surface of the membrane can be washed effectively as shown in the figure (b).
