Sticking apparatus for rubber-like member

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the titled apparatus which joins the front and rear end of a rubber-like member widthwise to both ends thereof by including a mechanism adapted to approach or separate from each other holding both side ends thereof being conveyed to a forming drum and a pressing mechanism for joining the front and rear ends thereof. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-like member W is conveyed to a tire forming drum with a conveyor 1 and spaces between clampers 38 and 42 is adjusted with blocks 31 and 32 of a side end holding mechanism 43 to grasp both side ends thereof W by closing grabbers 37 and 41. The front end of the rubber-like member W is pressed on the drum 2 and after the grabbers 37 and 41 are opened, the drum 2 is rotated. The rear end Wb of the rubber-like member W being wound thereon is detected to correct deviation in the stop position and securely grasped with a press plate 53 and a crank plate 56. After positioning is done for joining the front and rear ends thereof, the plate 56 is separated from the rear end Wb and then, the front end Wa is welded with the rear end Wb under pressure with a pressure-welding plate 51 and the press plate 53.
