Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To manufacture a light-weight EPROM device, cost thereof is low, easily by constituting the bottom by a material, through which ultraviolet rays are permeated, filling the inside of a box body with an ultraviolet permeable resin and surrounding the box body with an insulating resin while leaving the bottom of the box body with the bottom and one part of terminal sections for a lead frame. CONSTITUTION:An EPROM device 20 has an EPROM chip 22 fitted to a chip loading section 21a for a lead frame 21, metallic small-gage wires 23 connecting an electrode formed on the surface of the chip 22 and terminal sections 21b, and a box body 24 covered so as to surround said EPROM chip 22 and said metallic small-gage wires 23 from the outsides of connectig sections. The bottom 24a opposite to an ultraviolet projecting surface in the EPROM chip 22 may be constituted by a material, through which ultraviolet rays are permeated, in the box body 24, but constitution by the same material of the whole box body 24 is easy to manufacture. Since the inside of the box body 24 is filled with an ultraviolet permeable resin 25, the ultraviolet projecting surface in the EPROM chip is covered with the ultraviolet permeable resin 25.
