Olefin copolymer composition for polypropylene resin blends
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:The titled composition in pellet form, for use to be incorporated into a polypropylene resin so as to improve the mechanical strength, impact resistance, and processability in injection molding, obtained by mixing a high-ethylene copolymer with an ethylene-propylene copolymer having a high propylene content. CONSTITUTION:An ethylene-propylene copolymer (A), having a ratio of ethylene: propylene:non-conjugated diene of 5-45:55-90:0-10(wt%), a Mooney viscosity of ML1+4(100 deg.C) of 15-70, and Mw/Mn of 1.5-6 (where Mw is weight-average molecular weight and Mn is number-average molecular weight), and a copolymer (B), having a ratio of ethylene to alpha-olefin of 65-90:10-35(wt%), ML1+4(100 deg.C) of 10-70, and Mw/Mn of 1.5-4, are mixed in a ratio of A to B of 40-90:10-60 (wt%) to form the titled composition, having a ratio of ethylene:(propylene + alpha-olefin):non-conjugated diene of 30-60:40-70:0-9(wt%).
