Curing of curable resin
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the uniformity and shape retention of a cured article in curing a curable resin, by coating a curable resin premolding containing a polymerizable vinyl monomer with a specified compound and post-curing the premolding. CONSTITUTION:A premolded curable resin containing a polymerizable vinyl monomer is coated with a masking agent comprising a methanolic solution of a compound which is insoluble in the polymerizable vinyl monomer and solid at the curing temperature, and the coated premolding is cured. Examples of the compounds applied in the form of a methanolic solution include metal salts of organic carboxylic acids, such as lithium or sodium salts, or ammonium salts, of acetic or oxalic acid; inorganic metal salts, such as calcium chloride or nickel chloride or corresponding ammonium salts, such as ammonium iodide; and preferably, sodium acetate, potassium acetate, etc., are used.
