Cationic electrodeposition paint
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To provide the titled paint which does not cause the deterioration of adhesion of a coating film and has excellent corrosion proofness, containing a specified highly gelling cation exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A cation exchanger contg. at least 0.1 equivalent of cation exchange group/kg is treated with a mineral acid such as hydrochloric or sulfuric acid to convert Na<+> type into H<+> type, washed with pure water to remove the mineral acid, the exchange reaction product and low-molecular water-soluble matters, optionally treated with an aq. soln. of a heavy metal such as Pb and crushed to obtain a highly gelling cation exchanger which does not contain any halogen anion and contains H ions partially replaced with the heavy metal ion and adsorbed thereon. The cation exchanger is dispersed in a resin vehicle to prepare a paint.
