Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stabilize laser output only having a specific frequency component among the laser output of a semiconductor laser by a method wherein a filter circuit, which selectively transmits the laser output only having the specific frequency component, is used. CONSTITUTION:The monitor light Pm of a semiconductor laser 1 is received by a light-receiving element 3 for monitor. An output signal only having a specific frequency component among the output signals of the light-receiving element 3 for monitor is transmitted a filter circuit 25 and is inputted in an arithmetic circuit 4. A differential signal G between the signal transmitted the filter circuit 25 and the set signal is outputted from the arithmetic circuit 4. The differential signal G is made a negative feedback to a driving circuit 2. By this constitution, laser output only having a specific frequency component is stabilized. Incidentally, a frequency modulation signal ganerator 26, a filter circit 27 and a frequency counter 28 are respectively an essential constituent element for applying this invention to a continuous frequency modulation range finder.
