Composite type magnetic head and its production

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic head which exhibits an excellent recording and reproducing characteristic to a recording medium having high coercive force as well and has a wide track width by depostiting magnetic materials on at least both side faces and working gap forming surfaces of the projecting parts of two high permeability ferrite blocks having recesses at the tips of the projecting parts where the sectional shapes project from the surfaces facing the magnetic recording medium and constructing the head in such a way that the magnetic materials face each other via the working gap at the tips of the projecting parts. CONSTITUTION:40, 40' form track parts and working gap parts, consist of metallic magnetic materials having a high satd. magnetic flux density and are constituted of a crystalline alloy or amorphous alloy of Fe-Si, Fe-Al-Si, or Ni-Se each having the compsn. of nearly zero magnetostriction. On the other hand, 41, 41' consist of a bulk material having high magnetic permeability such as Mn-Zn ferrite, Ni-Zn ferrite or the like and are connected magnetically to said metallic magnetic materials. Prescribed nonmagnetic films are formed on the butt parts of a pair of the metallic magnetic materials, constituting a working gap 42. The 1st grooves 45, 45' are formed at the tips of the ferrite projecting part and the 2nd cut groove for determining a track width by sandwiching the 1st grooves is provided. The track width is made narrower than the core width.
