Remote electric power source turning-on monitoring device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To confirm each operation stage and the interruption of each operation by performing different timer monitoring for each operation, and setting the execution result in a status register and reporting it. CONSTITUTION:A remote power source turning-on and monitoring device 3 is positioned between a communication crcuit 5 and a cluster (small-sized computer) 2, and when a power-on command is received from a host computer 1 through the communication circuit 5, the device sends out the power-on command to the cluster 2, performs initial microprogram loading (IMPL) and initial program loading (IPL), and returns execution results by stages up to the rising of an operating system to the host computer as status data. The remote power source turning-on and monitoring device 3 consists of a timer 33, time-out detecting circuit 34, status register 35, etc., in addition to a memory 32 stored with necessary initial values of a timer so as to monitor necessary time data on power-on operation by the cluster 2, and IMPL and IPL.
