Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce in size and weight of a plane scanner while simplifying its mechanism by equipping a supply roller and a discharge roller with a supporting and body an operating body, respectively, and elevating and lowering them by driving. CONSTITUTION:When a moving table 26 is where a recording medium 24 is supplied, a supply-side elevation roller 34 moves onto a supply roller operating body 44, and a supply roller support 30 is pressed up together with the supply roller 33, so that the roller 33 projects upward slightly from the top surface of the moving table 26 and is pressed to a supply pressure roller 62. On the other hand, when the table is where a body to be scanned is discharged from the moving body, a discharge-side elevation roller 40 moves onto a discharge roller operating 46, a discharge roller support 36 is elevated together with a roller 39, which projects upward slightly from the top surface of the moving table 26 and is pressed to a discharge pressure roller 67. At this time, when a discharge-side motor rotates a roller 67 and a conveyor roller 68, the medium 24 is discharged onto the table 26 after passing between rollers 68 and 69.
